Weddings - Tea Party Shower Theme

Weddings - Tea Party Shower Theme

A guest said it perfectly in a social post following the shower:
“You’ll feel the love & happiness at this magical bridal shower. Absolutely adored the classic Disney tea time magic themed gathering. Relaxed. Classy. Artful details. The pleasures of afternoon tea. Savories & sweets. Sipping tea with friends & family. Enriches the soul.”
Deciding on a theme can help shape and plan the rest of the party details. Once you have a theme you will have the inspiration to create an invitation, plan the menu, assemble the party favors, and plan the décor and games. I am excited to share how my talented Aunt and Cousin created a memorable Tea Party Bridal Shower with attention to all the details.
Being a traditional afternoon tea, the menu consisted of small cut “tea sandwiches”, scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cake. The party utilized the services of a local tea shop named A taste of Britain and the spread was delicious!
The guests were greeted with a lovely Prosecco & fruit bar which is always a perfect celebratory combo. I dropped fresh berries into my flute, which was a nice compliment. Then, of course lots of TEA! I loved the way my Aunt and cousin displayed the tea! I worked my way through several different varietals.

You will want to have pictures to remember this special day! Positioning a photo op for guests as they first walk in creates the perfect place to snap some pictures with the Bride. My cousin used a round backdrop stand and decorated it with balloons and silk flowers - simple and elegant.

Welcome the guests as they arrive with a sign! I have used a similar setup for many parties utilizing a display easel and frame I purchased from Michaels. I just swap the picture for each event and boom, a reusable decoration for any occasion - a very worthwhile investment! Inside the party, there was also a custom banner that Craftingisadreamjob created with the Bride and Groom’s hashtag.
For the Lunch, the guests sat together at long tables that were decorated beautifully. My Aunt had a vision for the table décor that I was excited to help with! She evoked the theme by using tea containers as the vases. Inside were silk flowers that had bamboo skewers to hold up themed toppers that Craftingisadreamjob made. The acrylic toppers, traditionally used as custom cake toppers, worked perfectly for her vision. To get this look, purchase Harney & Sons teas! You can use the tin containers for the vase and the tea sachels inside can be used at your tea station.
The games my cousin hosted at the party were great! She chose three different games that were equaly entertaining. First, we played the Shoe Game and it received lots of laughs and was a great way to include the Groom. Next, a Disney version of Name that Tune that was actually very challenging because the songs were all instrumental. Finally, we played Name The Location which was special to see pictures of shared memories the couple has made.
The Party Favor bags were also on theme and filled with goodies for the guests to enjoy at home. My Aunt homemade adorable butter cookies with Alice in Wonderland themed cookie cutters. She packed the cookies into organza bags and paired them with a mini tea steeper and tea bags. The gift bags were adorned with custom labels that Craftingisadreamjob made.

Have fun coming up with a Shower theme and be sure to reach out to CraftingisaDreamJob to add the personalization into your party. Special thanks to my Aunt and Cousin for throwing a magical shower that I was honored to be a part of!
