How to Personalize a Bachelorette Party – Chicago Edition

How to Personalize a Bachelorette Party – Chicago Edition

For my sister in law’s Bachelorette, we took a trip to Chicago. We coined it “Chi-town before the gown”! This was my third trip to the city so I had a good idea of what to plan and I can give you a good itinerary to start with. And of course suggest some personalized items that can take things up a notch.
The cool thing about Chicago is the layout of the city. It has an awesome city feel with fun things to do like comedy shows and clubs but it also has the beach on Lake Michigan and the Chicago River that runs through the city for water activities. With the city feel and all the options for water activities, it makes for a great destination for a Bachelorette party and has something to offer for all the guests.
Planning out an Itinerary before a group trip is a must. Take a look at ours for inspiration. Tip: we were aggressive with planning the first night and had to shift our Comedy show to the next night. Woops. Learn from us!
The awesome thing about Chicago is the water activities! We rented a boat through Chicago Electric Boat and cruised through the Chicago River. You can BYO on the boat and we made some cocktails in personalized wine cups and brought some other canned beverages on board. You will need one of your party go-ers to be the responsible driver but it is worth it and nice that you can Captain your own boat. Obviously, you will need to get the Captain a Captain hat for their role like the one we got for ours.
For a night out, we went to SecondCity for a comedy show. The best thing to have your Bride wear on the night out is a veil to make her standout. Especially if you are going to a show where you might get called on.
Ok so this is where I thrive! I love adding fun props and swag to the event to take things up a notch.
I think Bach party shirts like the ones we wore on the boat or something uniform for the group to wear makes the group stand out. Besides shirts you could do customized hats, bandanas, or fun matching shades. The Captain of our boat had her own special Captain hat.
We had face paddles of Kelly and her husband-to-be that we had used for the shower and had a blast bringing these out with us to the bars. We had custom temporary tattoos made that were a picture of Brad, her future husband. These tattoos were a hit and cracked us up all weekend! We also had a deck of Bride party cards which helped jump-start our fun during the day when we were out at Federales. The Bride also wore a veil to make everyone know she was the Bride-to-be!
Upon arrival to the Airbnb I had put out all the goodies on the island and each personalized cup had things stuffed inside such as the custom temporary tattoos and hangover kit items and a copy of the Itinerary. CraftingIsaDream job had also made a custom banner with the Bach Party hashtag on it to great the guests!

If you make your way to Chi-town, enjoy the city for all it has to offer. Eat some deep-dish, enjoy the Lake and River views, go see a Comedy show, enjoy a cocktail on one of their many rooftop bars, and more!
