Three Essentials for Dinner Party Tablescapes

Three Essentials for Dinner Party Tablescapes

Tablescaping involves the setting of a themed table in artful and decorative ways. There are three items that I find essential for creating a classy look at the dinner table. Keep these three essentials on hand and add accents to compliment any party theme!
White tablecloths, plate chargers, and candles.  These are the basics to start creating a classy table setting!
Regardless of your desired end-result, starting with white provides a blank canvas to build your design.  Adding table runners or floral is a quick and easy way to quickly achieve the look you desire. In the photographed table setting, I used pine branches and holly tree clippings to act as a runner down the middle.  The tablecloths I recently found on Amazon offered lots of sizes and they washed great (wine and food stains were removed)!
Candles give the glow and warmth of a welcoming table.  They provide soft lighting and there are so many different designs to use.  I keep a pack of candlesticks on hand that I found from Amazon that have an 8 hour burn time and no drip (this is key)! In addition to those stand-by's, I love adding decorative candles and holders.  I purchased glitter candles from Michaels to put in hurricane glasses, red masons to add a pop of color on the table, and marbled votives to add more glow.  The votive candles I keep stocked in my house are also linked below.
Plate chargers add a classy look to the setting.  There are many colors and styles available.  At their low price point, I stock up on both gold and silver!  I traditionally get them at Michaels but you can also find them at Hobby Lobby and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
