Birthdays – “Art Bar” for Craft Activity and Party Favor

For my son’s Birthday party, I wanted to have a craft for the kiddos that would double as their favor! I created an “Art Bar”!

The “Candy Bar” concept, popular at baby showers, was the inspiration. The “Art Bar” is similar but each container contains a different art supply. The kids each receive a pencil case personalized with their name to fill up with goodies. CraftingisaDreamJob creates custom decals that are perfect for this!

I opted to use acrylic apothecary jars to display the supplies rather than glass jars because...kids. And speaking of the kiddos, one of the best things about this concept is that it is a fun activity for them while at the party AND a super exciting party favor to take home!

I also created a sign for the event and put it in one of Michaels Studio Decor Belmont frames.

I loved the setup for the “Art Bar” and the kids and their parents did too!

Art Supplies

Since most of the kids were under 3, we kept everything simple to use and washable! Michaels made it nice and easy as I was able to purchase all of the art supplies using their Buy Online Pick-up In-store option! I used Amazon for the Dino Stickers.

The kiddos got to fill their personalized art box with the following supplies when they left:
I will keep this idea in mind for future Birthday parties as well! As the kiddos get older, the types of items can evolve. However, the general approach to a fun party activity that doubles as a favor will remain the same! Win-win!
